Super Super Grizzly

Last Friday, Eden was thrilled when she got to school and discovered that she had been chosen as the Super Super Grizzly for the week!  This is her second time this year to be chosen as student of the week and she was so proud!
She did a great job helping the principal with announcements and even introduced herself on the microphone.
We are so proud of Eden and all the accomplishments she has made this year.  It's hard to believe she will be a first grader soon!

March Little Things

March is already over...wow that went fast!  I'm going to blink my eyes and summer is going to be here! Until then, here are a few more little things I want to remember about this month.

The kids were all excited to wear green on St. Patrick's Day.  (And we may or may not have had to pull Parker's green shirt from his dirty clothes hamper because his teacher told him that she would pinch anyone not wearing green and he wasn't willing to take that chance!)
Lily is always so excited when her teacher sends home the monthly Scholastic book order.  She loves to sit and peruse the flyers!  Decisions! Decisions!
The weather has been beautiful the past few weeks and Lily and I are taking daily walks around the neighborhood.  I like to bring a stroller just in case she gets a little tired and wants to rest for a minute but she thinks we are taking the stroller for her baby dolls!
Some days we leave the big stroller at home and just take the baby doll stroller!
Baseball has started again and Parker is back in the swing of things.  He is playing on a select team this year with several of the boys from our all star team from last summer.
Lily woke up with fever last week so I decided to take her in to see our pediatrician.  I'm so glad I did... poor thing had strep throat.  She fell asleep on the way home... doesn't she just look like her throat is hurting, even as she sleeps?  Poor thing was much better the next day after she started her antibiotics.
Our school planted a garden and every grade level got to choose a theme for their garden as well as help plant it.  I wasn't able to go but my friend got a picture of Eden helping carry the soil to the kindergarten garden.
Our school had an early release day so I took the kids for a special treat at Sweet Frog.

Eden loves to read to her sister.  She found these glasses one day and decided to use them to help her read.  She looks like a little grandma in this picture!
March was a busy month but I know it's only going to get busier and the school year comes to an end.  I'm so thankful for all the fun memories we made this month and can't wait to see what April has in store for us!

March Birthday Parties

March was full of birthday celebrations for our friends and family.

We almost missed Robert's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" party due to the ice storm and not being able to get out of our driveway.  But we took it slowly and made it just in time!  And since so many people had to cancel due to the weather, the girls got to go and enjoy the party too!
Lily had a blast at her friend Hadley's party at The Little Gym.  She talked about it for weeks after the party!
We all had fun celebrating Jewell's 8th birthday at the skating rink!  Lily tried skating for the first time and loved it!
Our church friend, Hazel, had her party at The Art Barn.  Lily couldn't wait to paint a piggy bank just like Eden had painted at Grace's party back in January.
And finally, Uncle Jon celebrated his 40th birthday this month!  We enjoyed helping him celebrate with dinner, cake and ice cream at his house!
We had a lot of fun celebrating so many birthdays this month and hope everyone felt very loved on their special day!

Spring Break 2015

Spring Break was very low key this year.  We didn't plan a whole lot of activities this year but I think the kids still had a fun week off of school.  It was great to not have to worry about waking up to an alarm clock for a whole week!

On Tuesday, Granna had to keep Addison, Aubrey, and Ryan while Aunt Emily went to work so we drove over with her and enjoyed playing with our cousins.  The weather was pretty chilly but we decided to take them to Sonic for lunch anyway.  The kids were disappointed when the playscape at Sonic was too wet and muddy from the rain a few days earlier but they still enjoyed getting to eat lunch together.
The weather on Wednesday was much better so we met Emily and MerMer at Central Market for lunch.  After lunch, Aunt MerMer took Eden and Lily to Build A Bear for a (very) late birthday surprise!  She's been trying to find a time to take them for months but it just never worked out. Better late than never!

The girls both picked My Little Ponies and had so much fun with Aunt MerMer!  It was a very special treat for them!

Cory and I felt bad that we hadn't planned anything exciting for the kids so we decided to take them for their first hibachi experience on Friday night.  The girls were a little scared of the fire but overall had a great time!  Their favorite part was trying to eat with chopstick!
After dinner we took them for one last treat at Sweet Frog.  They may have enjoyed that more than dinner!
Spring Break was not as eventful as it usually is but we enjoyed staying home, relaxing, and playing outside in the nice weather.  As always, it went way too fast but it's nice to know we are now on the downhill slide of this school year.

Snowday Playdate

We had another snow day today which meant more fun outside with our neighbors!  It is so nice to have neighbors with kids the same age as Parker, Eden, and Lily, especially on days like this.  They all loved rolling down the hill and having a snowball fight.
When they got too cold, Grace and Luke invited Eden and Lily to come back to their house for hot chocolate.  The girls had so much fun playing with them for a couple of hours before coming back home.
It was a great way to spend a snow day!  I predict there will be a lot more playdates with these sweet friends in the future!
