August Little Things

August was a busy and HOT month!  We had so much to do as we got ready to start another year of school but we managed to fit in some fun things too!

The kids all reached their reading goal for the Library Summer Reading program and got to attend the end of summer swim party at Splash Station.  The big slides were broken but they still had fun on the diving board and climbing wall.
Eden got to help her sweet friend Reagan celebrate her 7th birthday with cake and ice cream at Reagan's house.
Eden was so excited when she found out that she and Reagan were going to be in the same 2nd grade class this year!
Sweet friends- Grace, Sara, Reagan & Eden
Emily and I started another year in Cleburne ISD.  I am starting my 18th year of teaching this fall.  I'm not sure how that happened so quickly!  We don't see each other much during the school year but always try to get a picture at convocation each year.
Holland came to visit!  The kids are so in love with her!  Here is a picture of the oldest cousin and the youngest cousin.  So sweet!
Everyone met for dinner on Ryan's birthday.  I had Meet the Teacher so I didn't get to go but my mom sent me this picture of the "bigs".  She said they sat in a booth by themselves and visited the entire time.  How did they get so grown up so fast?!?!
August was fun but we are tired of this heat and are ready for September.  Bring on the cooler weather and pumpkin spice lattes!

Super Grizzly

We've had a great first week of school!  Lily has loved kindergarten (once she gets there...getting up in the morning is a different story)!  This morning she was given the honor of being named Super Grizzly for her class!  Super Grizzly is given to a student who works hard and has good behavior.  I am so proud of Lily for earning this honor so early in the year!
The Super Grizzlies from each kindergarten class got to come down to the office and help Ms. White with the pledge.
Way to go Lily!  We are proud of you!

First Day of School

Another first day of school is in the books and everyone had a great day!

We had Meet the Teacher last week so the kids were all excited about starting a new year at Gerard.

They all woke up bright and early and ready to go!
Parker started 4th grade with Mrs. Adams for homeroom/ELAR and Mrs. Glover for math/science.
Eden started 2nd grade with Mrs. Humphreys.
And Lily started kindergarten with Mrs. Pritchard.  I still can't believe my baby started kindergarten today!

I'm so excited about having all three kids at Gerard with me for the next two years.

Parker and Eden's classrooms are right next to each other so we dropped them off first.  They both have several good friends in their classes and I know they are going to love school this year!

Last but not least, we dropped off Lily with Mrs. Pritchard.  It's hard to believe that we won't be doing this again.  I know she's going to love kindergarten but it sure is hard to send your baby to school.

I promised Lily that I would come check on her at lunchtime.  She thought she was such a big girl getting a tray like Parker and Eden!
They walked to Granna's house after school and they were all smiles as they walked home today!
Mrs. Humphreys sent me a couple of pictures of Eden from the first day.
 Eden and her friend Carson
It's always sad to see summer come to an end but it's also fun to have a fresh start with a new teacher and new friends!  I can't wait to see this year unfold!

Happy 5th Birthday Ryan

This past Thursday, my favorite nephew turned 5!  It seems like just yesterday we were visiting him in the hospital.  He's grown into a spunky, spirited, passionate little boy and I love getting to spend time with him.
Today we got to help him celebrate his birthday with a party at the girl's gymnastics gym.  The kids had so much fun running, flipping, jumping, and tumbling through the obstacle course.
Ryan chose Paw Patrol for his cake.  He was so proud of it!
These two "littles" are quite the pair!
(And they aren't very little anymore...sniff, sniff)
Happy Birthday Ryan!  Aunt Mamie loves you very much!

Update:  Ryan really wanted a FlipAZoo for his birthday.  We ordered it but it didn't come in before his party.  He was one happy boy when it finally came in the mail!

Happy 41st Birthday Cory!

Yesterday, Cory celebrated his 41st birthday.  Since all of our family was already together for Parker's baptism on Sunday, we combined it with Cory's birthday and killed two birds with one stone.  Cory requested 4 Layer Dessert instead of a cake this year and it was very yummy!
These kids sure are lucky to have Cory for a dad.
Cory and I went to the Rangers game last night to celebrate.  Our tickets were in the Capitol One Club so we had a lot of good food and enjoyed watching the game together.
Happy Birthday, my love!  I hope this is your best year yet!

Parker's Baptism

Parker made the decision back in June to ask Christ to be his Savior and was baptized this past weekend.  We are so proud of his decision to follow Christ and look forward to watching him grow in his walk with the Lord.

He was pretty nervous about being in front of everyone at church but did a great job during the baptism.

All of our family was able to come to the baptism so we had them all over for lunch after church. It was great to have everyone together for the day.
