Pumpkin Patch 2015

Emily and I tried the entire month of October to find a time to take the kids to the local pumpkin patch for our annual picture, but it didn't end up happening until November 1st.  The weather was very rainy in October so that didn't help as we tried to find a time in our busy schedules to go.  We finally squeezed in a few minutes last Sunday and were able to get our pictures with the pumpkins.

I remember a few years ago when we had to plan the picture around nap times and the witching hour when the kids were fussy. We had to take plenty of snacks and bribery candy.  And even with all of that planning, we were usually lucky to get one picture with all kids cooperating.  And now, we line them all up, ask them to smile, and take a picture!  It's amazing the difference a few years make!  I love this stage but it does make me a little sad to compare pictures and see just how big they are all getting.

And because I'm feeling nostalgic, here is a trip down our Pumpkin Patch memory lane!

It won't be long and we will be sending them all off to college!  I'm so thankful for all six of these precious kids and the memories we have made throughout the years!

October Little Things

October was a busy month but with the holidays approaching, I have a feeling things aren't going to slow down any time soon!

 

Lily had preschool pictures last week.  Granna curled her hair and got her ready for her last preschool pictures ever!

Dylann's house flooded one of our rainy days so her mom asked if I could pick her up from preschool while she cleaned up all of the water in their house.  I took the birthday girls (Dylann's birthday is only six days after Lily's) for a special lunch at Chicken Express (their choice!) and when I gave them their food, Dylann exclaimed "Now this is what I call delicious!!".  They chose a table with only two chairs so I got stuck out and had to sit by myself for lunch.  It was so funny to listen to their conversation during lunch.  They are such sweet friends!

Addison and Aubrey had "Lunch with a Loved One" so my mom and Lily drove over to eat with them.  Lily loved getting to see their school and go to the book fair with her cousins.

We had Red Ribbon Week the last week of October.  One day was Tutus and Ties so Eden and I wore some of the girls tutus (it was a tight squeeze for me but I managed to get it over my hips!) and Cory let Parker borrow one of his ties.  One of my kindergartners told me I looked like a pumpkin!

And that's a wrap for October!  Next up... celebrating Eden's birthday and Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2015

Halloween 2015 is in the books!  It was a very low key but fun evening!  I have to say that one nice thing about the kids getting older is that we can now make it through this holiday without any tears, meltdowns, or tantrums!  I also love that my kids are low maintenance when it comes to Halloween costumes.  Parker was totally fine with wearing his baseball uniform and the girls were happy choosing a princess dress from the dress up box.

We went to the annual Trunk or Treat at Mr. Reed's church but it was a LOT more crowded than in years past and we were only there long enough to play a few games and get a few pieces of candy before the kids started asking to leave.   

We had to get our annual picture with the Halloween llama!!  It just wouldn't seem like Halloween without it!

After we left the church, we trick or treated at Mrs. King's house and Mrs. Brightwell's house before heading home to hand out candy.

The kids loved passing out candy to trick or treaters last year and asked to do it again this year.  Cory helped them set up music and a strobe light on the front porch and they were perfectly happy the rest of the night.  It was a great way to end a fun day!

Community Helper Fair

Lily had her Community Helper Fair today.  I know I keep saying this, but after six consecutive years of Sunshine Preschool Community Helper Fairs, it's hard to believe that this was our last one ever!

 

Lily decided to dress up as a chef this year which is the same thing she chose to be last year.  She was paired up with Dylann and they had a great time pretending to be bakers,

veterinarians,

grocery store shoppers,

construction workers,

gardeners,

and garbage collectors.

Lily is so social and it's fun to watch her interact with the sweet friends she had made over the past two years at preschool.  We will miss these sweet friends so much next year!

I am so thankful to Miss Tammy and Miss Amy for all of the time and effort they put into making this year's Community Helper Fair a huge success!
