2nd Six Weeks Awards Program

Today was the awards program for the 2nd six weeks of school.  Parker, Eden, and Lily all earned honor roll and perfect attendance awards this six weeks.
In addition, Eden earned the Grizzly Greatness Award for her class.  This award is given to one girl and one boy per class for good citizenship.  Eden was so excited and couldn't wait to put her yard sign in our yard when she got home!

Cory and I are so proud of our kids and the hard work they do at school.  It's always nice to see them recognized for their accomplishments.

Eden & Lily's Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a joint birthday party to celebrate Eden and Lily's birthdays.  We had a bounce house party at Miss Tammy's.  They each got to pick their own theme and invite their own friends.

Eden chose an emoji theme so I made her four different emoji cakes and poop emoji cupcakes.

Lily didn't want a theme but instead chose a cute cake design on the internet for me to recreate.  She got to pick the colors for the design.
The girls were adamant that they each got to open their presents separately and blow out their candles separately.
We are so thankful to all of our friends and family who came out to help us celebrate our sweet birthday girls!

Surprise!!!

We found out this month that Aunt MerMer and Uncle Craig are expecting triplets next spring!  To say we are excited/shocked/scared would be an understatement!   I can't wait to find out if they are boys or girls next month!  What a blessing these babies will be to our family!

October Little Things

October was a busy month for our family.  Between birthday celebrations and fall activities, it seemed like we were always on the go.  Here are a few of our October little things:

Lily loves to help Granstan with chores around his house like watering the plants and filling up the bird feeders.
One day, the girls were playing at my mom's house when she called me and said there was a small problem. Eden and Lily were trying to brush their hair and Eden somehow got the brush stuck in her curls.  My mom and I tried everything to get it out and just when we thought we were going to have to cut the brush out, she somehow managed to get it loose.
This was the biggest tangle I think I've ever seen and, in the end, we did have to cut a little bit of her hair out.
Last month, I applied for an educational grant from the Cleburne Education Foundation for some math Learning Palettes for my classroom.  I found out this month that I received the grant and I can't wait for my new manipulatives to come in so I can use them with my students.
During Homecoming Week, we had special dress up days at school.  One day was Scrabble day and students were encouraged to wear shirts with the first letter of their name.  Mrs. Brightwell sent me this picture of Lily and her classmates spelling the word "TALK" with their shirts.
Because Parker is in Student Council, he got to ride on the Homecoming parade float.  Eden, Lily, and I found a good spot to watch the parade and wave to him as he rode by.
October was a busy month and I know November and December aren't going to slow down at all.  Once of these days I'm going to miss this crazy, busy schedule...right?!?!?

Halloween 2017

Another Halloween has come and gone.  The kids weren't as excited as they used to be about dressing up.  Parker decided he was too cool for dressing up this year and opted to stay at the house and help Cory hand out candy.

Lily and Eden were supposed to be Mustard and Ketchup this year but at the last minute Lily changed her mind and wanted to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
Eden was crushed that Lily backed out on their plan, so I did what any Mom of the Year would do... I put a smile on my face and agreed to be Mustard.
Eden was so excited about this condiment partnership!
We went to Mrs. Becky's house and Mrs. Brightwell's house and then came back to our neighborhood to trick or treat.
When Lily was 2 years old, she also went as Dorothy.  One of my all time favorite pictures of Lily was that Halloween when she couldn't decide what candy to eat so she just chose them all!!  I knew that we had to recreate that picture now that Lily was older and I love how it turned out!
And just to prove that I can sometimes be a Pinterest mom- we had mummy pizza for dinner before we started trick or treating.  Don't ever let my kids tell you that I'm not a fun mom!!
