Yesterday was the last day of school and our End of School Awards program. Students with Perfect Attendance were recognized as well as the One Million Word readers. Parker got both awards and got called up on stage to be recognized two times.
The first award he received was for Perfect Attendance. This is the first time in his three years of school that he has had perfect attendance.
The next group to be recognized was students who read one million words in the AR program. Our school had 26 students who reached this goal which was quite impressive!
Out of those 26 students, 16 of them reached 1.5 million words and received a Kindle Fire. Parker was the only 2nd grader in our school who achieved this goal. He worked so hard for his Kindle and couldn't wait to finally get it in his hands! Cory and I are so proud of him for his hard work and determination!
Parker's biggest supporters! (I didn't have childcare for Lily on the last day of school so I had to bring her to school with me. Since I had to be on stage to hand out the Kindles during the program, Eden's teacher agreed to let her sit with their class. Lily thought she was big stuff sitting with Eden and her friends!)
