February Little Things

February has come and gone and we are just a couple of weeks away from spring break!  Here are a few of our February happenings:

We finished up basketball season this month.  Mrs. Humphreys was so sweet to come and watch Lily's last game.  Both girls played well this season and improved a lot!
Parker's team placed 2nd in their age group.  Parker played very well and was even asked to join one of the prime teams for a few games.  I can't wait to watch him play in middle school next year.
Parker has really enjoyed learning how to play the trumpet this year in band.  He had his first solo contest this month and got a superior rating.
He also had his first beginning band concert this month.  Unfortunately, it was when Cory and I were in Beaver Creek.  Luckily, Granna, Granstan, and the girls were there to support him. (Cory and I enjoyed the concert via FaceTime!)
Eden has so many sweet friends in her class this year.  One of the moms sent this to me after she ate lunch with them one day.
Our school chose not to have Valentine's Day parties this year, but Mrs. Click surprised the girls with lip-shaped lollipops to enjoy!
Mrs. Humphreys is always sending me pictures of things Lily is doing in class.  One day, they used Oreos to learn about phases of the moon.
Another day, Lily and her best friend, Ellie, earned candy and a drink from Braum's for reading 200 books this year!
Eden and Lily both earned Perfect Attendance, Perfect Conduct, and A Honor Roll for this six weeks!  Cory and I are so proud of their hard work this year!
Lily loved that she and Mrs. Humphreys were both Fern from "Charlotte's Web" on Storybook Character Day at school!
February was good to us, but we are ready for March and a little break from school!

Beaver Creek 2019

Another great ski trip to Beaver Creek is in the books!  The best part of this year's trip was getting to ski with Cory at the top of the mountain for the first time in 5 years.  Cory's ski apparatus had a few changes from last year that made it much easier for him to control on his own.  He did a great job and enjoyed getting to ski with me and Heath again.
We always appreciate the Ranelle's and Hu's allowing us to join them in Beaver Creek for a long weekend every year.  It's always nice to get away and enjoy beautiful scenery, great food, and good company for a few days.

Superintendent's Citizenship Award

Every six weeks, one student at our school is awarded the Superintendent's Citizenship Award.  This six weeks, Lily was chosen to be the 2nd grade recipient.

Tonight, the 2nd grade recipients from each elementary school were recognized at the school board meeting. They each received a trophy for being good citizens at school.  We are so proud of Lily for this recognition!
Lily was so excited that Mrs. Humphreys was able to come and support her at the meeting.
Way to go, Lily!  We are so proud of you!
