October Little Things

October was fun but exhausting! We finished up volleyball and cross country and only have one more week of football and then we slow down for a few weeks before basketball starts.  Here a few more little things from this month:

Papa turned 80 years old on October 17th so Cory took him to Del Frisco's to celebrate.  We had already planned Lily's birthday sleepover for that night so I didn't get to go but they had a great dinner.
Eden got to help her sweet friend, Carson, celebrate his 11th birthday.
Parker helped his friend, Alek, celebrate his 13th birthday.
We went to the fall festival at Friendship Baptist and Eden had a great time with her best friends Reagan, Lacey, and Laila.
One of my ESL students moved to another school last week and I'm missing him terribly.  He was a very high needs student so he spent a lot of one on one time with me every day.  I hope he does well at his new school!
And now we are officially moving into the holiday season.  We are excited to celebrate Eden's birthday and Thanksgiving in the next few weeks.  And I guess I need to start thinking about buying a few presents for Christmas... it will be here before we know it!

Halloween 2019

Another Halloween has come and gone!  The kids were so excited that the cousins came to trick or treat with us again this year.  We convinced the girls to have matching butterfly costumes and they looked so cute!
Ryan was a ninja and created his costume all on his own.
Emily and I dressed up as twins this year- HA!
Parker stayed home with Cory to help hand out candy so Emily and I took the others around the circle and let them go door to door.  Most of our neighbors participate in handing out candy so they all came home with a bucket full of treats.  It was a fun night with perfect weather and lots of fun with their cousins!

9 Years Old

My sweet Lily-
What a blessing it's been to be your mom for the past 9 years! You are growing up so fast and I'm so proud of the beautiful young lady you're becoming.  I can't believe you're only one year away from double digits!  Here are the things I want to remember about you as you start a new year:

- Your growth didn't slow down this year!  You are still the tallest in your class (by a lot!).  I can't wait to see how tall you are when we go see Dr. Morrow for your annual checkup.  You are wearing size 14/16 clothes and I can't believe it but we are now sharing some shoes!  My dream of sharing shoes with you and Eden is quickly coming to an end!

- You love school and Mrs. Click! You are a great student and have been on the A Honor Roll every six weeks.  You are finally reading chapter books all the time and have gotten much quicker at your math facts this year.

- You are still my best eater and will try almost anything.  You love fruit, yogurt, salad, sushi, chicken salad, cheeseburgers, carrots with ranch dressing, Cheetos, and gummy bears.

- You are mature, dependable, responsible, and reliable.  You run errands for teachers at school all the time because they know they can count on you.

- You make friends easily and have a lot of friends at school and church.  Your best friends are still Ellie and Jery.

- You hated piano lessons but love sports- especially volleyball! I have a feeling your height is going to be a huge advantage for you if you stick with sports in middle school.

- You LOVE to snuggle with me every night before bed and every morning when you wake up.  You still fit perfectly in my lap and I dread the day we outgrow your rocking chair.  Laughing with you every night before bed as we rock is something I look forward to all day.

- You love playing outside with the neighbors (Cooper and Madeline) and prefer riding your scooter over riding your bike.

- You are great with Holland and the triplets- you are going to make a great babysitter soon.

You are one of a kind, Lily! I know I've said it before, but I'm so glad God knew we needed you to complete our family.  You keep us laughing and your joy for life is contagious!  I can't wait to see where this year leads you and I'm so thankful that I get to be a part of it!  Have a wonderful birthday, sweet girl!

I love you to the moon and back, Mommy

Eden and Lily's Volleyball Season

Lily and Eden just finished up a great season of volleyball.  They both learned a lot from their coaches and improved so much.  They had the sweetest girls on their team and I hope we are able to keep their teams together next season.
Eden and her best friend, Reagan
Eden had fun at her end of season party.  One of the mom's made goody bags for all the girls.
Mrs. Click came to one of Lily's games.  We truly have the best teachers!
Three of Mrs. Click's students are on the team- Lily, Ellie, and Harper
Luke is another one of Lily's biggest fans!
It was such a fun season and I'm already looking forward to playing again in the spring.

7th Grade SMS Cross Country

Today Parker ran in his last cross country race of the season.  He had a great season and consistently finished in the top 20 runners . There were usually about 125-150 boys in his age group so finishing in the top 20 was a huge accomplishment.  His personal best was coming in 5th place at the Covington XC Meet. The Smith MS 7th grade boys team finished in 1st place at every meet except today's district meet where they finished 2nd.

Parker really enjoyed running and is planning on being on the team again next year.  It was fun to watch him run every week and cheer him and his friends, Kayden and Kaden, on at each race.  I'm so proud of his hard work, dedication (he had to be at school every morning at 6:30am for practice) and improvement throughout the season.
Unfortunately, cross country is not a very wheelchair friendly sport, so Cory was not able to go to watch Parker race.  Thankfully, I was able to make it to every race and cheer him on!
5th place finisher!

Pumpkin Patch 2019

We made it out to the pumpkin patch today for our annual cousin pictures.  It was surprisingly easier than we had planned, especially now that the triplets are on the move!  They love their cousins and will usually sit still for pictures as long as they are being held by them.
All the girls!
Our 3 outnumbered boys!
When did they get so big?!?!
Addison and Parker- the "bigs"
Aubrey and Eden- the "middles"
Lily and Ryan- the "littles"
These girls are such good friends! I'm so thankful they have each other!
