October Little Things

October was such a busy month!  It seemed like we had something to do every weekend!  Just a few more weeks and then we have a week off of school for Thanksgiving Break!  In addition to Lily's birthday celebrations and Halloween, here are a few more things we did this month:

The girls helped Carson celebrate his 10th birthday at the Fort Worth Children's Museum.  They got to "dig" for fossils and then put the bones together to make a dinosaur.
Eden participated in a Jazz Festival at TCU and played one of her favorite piano pieces, "Pumpkin Boogie".  She did a great job and got a superior rating!
After lots of rain, we finally had a sunny day.  Maggie took full advantage and spent most of the day on her "perch" on the back porch.
Mrs. Humphreys is always so sweet to send me pictures of Lily during the day.
She loved this science experiment with a microwave and Ivory soap!
She also loves writing.  Here is a Halloween story she wrote and sent me one day.
Holland loves Barney right now so we gave her our old stuffed animal Barney.  She was so excited and quickly added it to her collection of lovies!
It's not always easy to get the girls to read on their own.  It always makes me happy when I walk into the room and see them reading without me having to ask.
One of the highlights of this month was hitting 200 check-ins with Camp Gladiator.  The best part was that I hit this goal with Emily.  We started our CG journey around the same time two years ago, so it was fun to reach this milestone together.
We had a lot of fun this month and are looking forward to the upcoming holidays!  This is always a busy but fun time of year!

Halloween 2018

One day, Emily and I were talking about Halloween and we realized her kids had never done traditional trick-or-treating.  They've always gone to the Trunk or Treat at their church but have never been door to door trick-or-treating in a neighborhood.  I decided to invite both her and Meredith over to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood.  We've had a lot of houses built in the past few years and they all seem to participate in handing out candy on Halloween.

Meredith had already decided to dress up Holland and the triplets as Crayons for Halloween so we decided to make it a family affair and all dress up like crayons.  The kids each picked their favorite color and we made them matching shirts.  We even got Granna to dress up with us!
The whole crayon box!
We were quite the crew as we started our trick-or-treating around the circle.  Unfortunately, it was very cold and drizzly so Meredith and the triplets only made it a couple of houses before they turned around and headed back inside.
Holland loved getting candy and did a great job saying "Trick or Treat" at each house!
We had one house that opened the door wearing a scary mask and scared Holland to death, but overall our trip around the block was a success!  The cousins said they loved traditional trick-or-treating and that they want to do it again next year.  Hopefully, we can make this an annual cousin tradition!

Pumpkin Patch 2018

We were finally able to coordinate our schedules and make it to the pumpkin patch for our annual cousin pictures before it was too late!  Getting a two year old and three babies to cooperate for a picture took a little bit of work but we finally got a couple of good ones!
The girls
The boys
The Browns
The Rowlands
The Harsheys- Thank goodness for this wagon! We weren't sure how we were going to get a picture of all the babies together since they aren't sitting up yet.  The wagon was the perfect solution!
The "bigs"- Parker and Addison
The "middles"- Eden and Aubrey
The "littles"- Lily and Ryan
My beautiful Eden

Happy 8th Birthday Lily!

Today our sweet Lily turned 8! We've been celebrating her birthday all weekend!  On Friday, we met at Rosa's for her family birthday dinner.  Lily was excited because Meredith, Craig, Holland and the triplets were all able to come.  It was their first outing at a restaurant and they all did so well!

Lily requested a "bump" cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes this year.
Our "littles" aren't so little anymore!
Lily and Aubrey and their new matching glasses!
Lily got a seat pet from Emily and MerMer and a new volleyball practice belt from Granna.
The babies did so well at the restaurant!
Today we started the day with presents before school.
Mrs. Humphreys surprised Lily with her favorite candy- a HUGE Laffy Taffy!
For dinner, Lily requested that we stay home and have pizza.
Of course, we had to have another round of cake!
Lily asked for a birthday shirt to wear on her special day.  I thought it turned out cute!
We had a great weekend celebrating a very special girl!  Lily brings so much joy to our family and we hope she felt very loved today!
