May/June Little Things

Things have been pretty slow around her lately.  Most of our days look mostly like this: sleep late, swim, stay up too late, repeat!  Here are a few little things from the past two months:

Mrs.Click brought Lily a summer popcorn treat and we enjoyed it as our afternoon snack one day while we were swimming.
We went over to play with Holland and the triplets one afternoon and I enjoyed some reading time with Luke.  He loves books and is always up for reading some Spot!
We finally got patio furniture and can't wait to enjoy many family dinners together.
Maggie has enjoyed being lazy with us this summer.  She's enjoyed us being home so much and isn't going to know what to do when the kids go back to school in the fall.
Sweet Wryn! She's always making us laugh!
Maggie loves to sit by the fence and watch the neighbors while they are fishing.
Cousin sleepovers are the best!  Addison and Aubrey stayed at our house while Lily and Ryan slept at Granna's.
One of Lily's friends moved to west Texas so we had a going away party for her with some of her closest friends.  We are sure going to miss Addi and her family but wish them the best of luck on their new adventure!
Cory and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary on June 20th.  We were able to get away for a few hours and have dinner in Sundance Square.  Here's to 22+ more years together!
This summer hasn't looked anything like we had hoped but we are making the best of it!  I'm so thankful our pool got finished just in time for quarantine.  I don't know what we would do every day if we couldn't swim!

Summer Baseball

Parker's spring baseball season got cancelled due to Covid but he was able to play in a couple of tournaments this summer.  He played with two different teams and loved every minute of it!
Parker usually plays 3rd base but his favorite thing to do is pitch.  I love watching him in his element- he stays cool, calm and collected no matter what happens.
One of the dad's took some great pictures of the boys during the game and got a group shot afterwards.

Celebrating My Birthday

Emily and I celebrated our 43rd birthday today.  Yesterday, my mom kept our kids and blessed us with a day of shopping and dinner with our husbands.  We didn't buy much but we enjoyed getting to shop at a leisurely pace without any kids huffing and puffing because they were tired and ready to leave!  We ended the day with Cory and Jon meeting us for dinner at Abuelo's.
Today we enjoyed a day of swimming and a cookout with our families.  I know I say this every year, but I'm so thankful for Emily and love sharing my birthday with her every year.  I truly don't know what I'd do without her.  Happy Birthday to us!  I hope we have a great year ahead of us!

Uncle Tommy's Funeral

My Uncle Tommy (Granstan's brother) passed away last week from a long battle with COPD.  The girls and I rode with Granna and Granstan out to Snyder for his funeral.  Emily and her family were able to come too.  It was nice to see some of my cousins and Eden and Lily loved playing with Uncle Tommy's grandkids.
Granstan and his siblings- 6 of the 8 are still living
A few of my cousins (Grammy's grandkids)
Sherry, Tracy, and Emily and I had a lot of fun times together growing up.  It was so nice to see them and get to visit and reminisce with them!
A few of the second cousins (Grammy's great-grandkids)
Granstan and Granna
Ryan loved getting to play with Tracy's son, Kanyon.  They were quite the pair!
I hate that it took a funeral to bring us together, but it was great to see a lot of my family that I haven't seen in a long time.  RIP Uncle Tommy- we love you!

Camping with Uncle Jon

The girls just got back from their first camping trip with Uncle Jon and the cousins.  They went to the Cleburne State Park and spent the night in Jon's camper.  They roasted hot dogs, made smores, rode bikes, played cards, went hiking, and swam in the lake.  They had so much fun and can't wait to go again!  I am so thankful for Jon for including my kids in their family adventures!
Emily and I drive out to the state park for a couple of hours to see the kids and eat dinner with them but we weren't up for staying the whole night.  Maybe next time!

Parker's (Belated) Birthday Party

We were finally able to have Parker's 13th birthday party at the beginning of June.  When we started building the pool, our only request was that it be finished by his birthday so he could have a swim party with his friends.  The pool was finished on time but Covid made us postpone the party for almost 6 weeks.

Luckily, all of his friends were able to come celebrate with him today.  They swam, we cooked out hot dogs and hamburgers and then had cake and ice cream.  It was a great day celebrating our new teenager!
