December Little Things

2018 has come to an end!  It has definitely had some ups and downs and I'm not sad to see it go.  I'm ready to start a new year and make some new memories with the kids.  Here are a few things we did in December to finish up the year:

Eden had her GT CafĂ© to show off the science project she's been working on all semester.  She was so excited when she arrived and saw a first place ribbon!
One night we were all watching America's Funniest Videos when a dog segment came on.  Maggie, who had been sleeping on my bed, perked up and watched every single dog video.  As soon as it was over, she went right back to sleeping.  The kids thought it was so funny that she wanted to watch videos about dogs!
And that wraps up another year in the Brown household!  I'm so thankful for my wonderful family and all the memories we've made this year!

Lily-isms and Eden-isms

I've been collecting the funny things the girls have said this year and I wanted to include them in this year's blog book.

Lily has slowed down on how often she mixes up words/phrases , but every now and then she comes up with a good one that makes us laugh so hard!  Here are a few of my favorite Lily-isms from this year:

-Lightricity= electricity
-Inside outside=how she describes her shirt when it is inside out
-Round of acclause= round of applause
-Honey roll= honor roll (The 1st six weeks of first grade, she came home, handed me her report card, and said "Mrs. Brightwell said I'm getting an award for making the honey roll."
-Bump cake= bundt cake
-Overflowded= something is very full (The room is going to be overflowded.)
-"Go tell it to the mountain" was one of her favorite Christmas carols this season!
-Talking about essential oils- "Do we need to put more Frankenstein (Frankincense) on me?"
-"It's the best in the whole university (universe)!"

-One night I was sitting on the back porch working on my computer when Lily walked up and started reading over my shoulder (which I hate!).
Me- "Lily please don't read over my shoulder."
Lily- "Can I read over your head?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eden only has a few things she says but she says them ALL. THE. TIME!!

-Every night before bed, Eden says this to both Cory and I as we are leaving her room:
"I love you to the moon and back.  You are the best mom (dad) I could ever have.  I'm glad you're in my family.  You're Awesome.  Cool.  Amazing.  Best Mom (Dad) Ever.  See you in the morning Best Mom (Dad) Ever!"

-Eden is so sweet and never wants to hurt anyone's feelings.  If there is ever anything she wants to tell you about something she doesn't like, she always begins by saying, "No offenses (no offense) but..."

It's sad to me that the kids don't mix up as many things as they used to.  Fortunately, Holland is starting to say some really funny things!  I hope Meredith is writing them down because it's always fun to go back and read the funny things the kids have said over the years!

Christmas with Granna & Granstan

We enjoyed spending the rest of Christmas Day with the cousins.  This is what we saw when we walked into Granna's house!  That's A LOT of stockings!!
We got our annual Christmas photo in front of Granna's Christmas tree before we started opening presents.
My sweet Eden
The Rowlands
The Harsheys (minus Holland who wasn't very interested in taking pictures)
Everyone loved having so many babies to pass around and love on! One of the great things about having triplets is that there is always a baby that needs to be held!
We tried really hard to find matching pajamas this year but it's hard to find adult and infant sizes in the same pattern.  Instead we had matching "Cousin Crew" shirts made for the kids to wear.
After all the pictures, it was finally time to open presents!
Granna's gift to all the kids this year was a name blanket. The kids loved them and have been using them all the time.
We also surprised Granna with her own blanket!  It has all 10 grandkid's names on it.
After dinner, we played some fun games like Family Feud.
We ended the night with our annual Rhone family picture.  This year we added the last 3 members of the family- Luke, Hadley, and Wryn! The Rhone family is now complete and I predict that there will be a lot of fun times ahead!

Christmas 2018

Christmas morning came and went so quickly but we had a wonderful morning together!
Santa was good to the kids this year! He brought them all a Nintendo Switch to share and he stuffed their stockings full of fun things!
The kids slept until 7:00 which was much better than our 5:30 wake up call from last year.
I tried to get the kids to wait until after breakfast to open presents but they just couldn’t wait!
I surprised Cory with a new speaker that he wanted.
The biggest surprise was my new Apple Watch that Cory gave me!  I had no idea that he was doing that for me and I’ve had so much fun learning how to use it!
We finally made breakfast, played some Mario Kart on the Switch, and then headed to Granna’s for Christmas with the cousins. It was a nice, relaxing morning with just our family of 5!

Christmas Eve with Grandma & Papa

We spent Christmas Eve with Grandma, Papa and Aunt Sondra.  We enjoyed chopped bakers for dinner and cute Christmas cookies for dessert.
The kids couldn’t wait to start opening presents after dinner!
Lily got a huge stuffed unicorn and a new Jojo bow.
Eden loved her My Little Ponies set and her new water bottle!
Parker got a GameStop gift card that was used the day after Christmas!

I wasn’t feeling well that night due to a sinus infection but I’m so glad we were able to spend the evening with Cory’s family. It was a great way to start our Christmas celebrations!

Christmas Eve Mystery Lunch

Two years ago, Granna served the kids a mystery lunch and they have been begging to do another one ever since.  We decided Christmas Eve lunch would be a fun time to serve it!  Granna gave the kids a "menu" which was a list of code words and they had to decide which menu items they wanted during each course.  There were 3 courses and the menu had a Christmas presents theme.  Some of their choices were Nerf guns, bicycle, and remote control car!  The kids had no idea which food item corresponded with each code word.
In the 1st course, Lily chose LOLs, Shopkins, nerf gun, and balls.
She was served chips, grapes, yogurt, and ice cream.  Unfortunately, she didn't choose a spoon so she had to be creative on how she ate her food!!
Eden chose LOLs, scooter, ninjas, and Legos.
She was served yogurt, shredded cheese, queso, and a spoon!
Parker chose ninjas, LOLs, nerf gun, and balls.
He got yogurt, queso, ice cream, and grapes!
Here was their reactions when they received their first course!
There was a lot of laughter every time a new course was served.  It was fun to watch them get creative on how to eat certain foods without utensils.
During the last course, Eden decided to drink her beans right out of the bowl!
They all had a great time and I'm sure it won't be long before they're asking Granna to do another mystery lunch!
