Parker's Birthday Party

We celebrated Parker's 3rd birthday with a sports themed birthday party at our house this past Sunday.

I made Parker a baseball cake and some cupcakes decorated like basketballs, soccer balls, and baseballs.

We borrowed a small jump house from some friends and it was the hit of the party.

We let the kids practice hitting balls off of our baseball tee and they also enjoyed kicking the ball around the backyard.

After lots of playing, it was time for cake and ice cream. Parker had the biggest smile the entire time we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. When I was putting him to bed that night, I asked him what his favorite thing was and he answered "the cake", so it must have been pretty good!

After cake, it was time to open presents. Parker had a hard time understanding why he couldn't play with each thing after he opened it. Some of his favorite gifts were the Legos, his new dinosaur puzzle, and his first set of golf clubs.

After presents, it was time for the baseball pinata. We let each kid hit it several times before Cory finally had to help them break it open.

The candy was also a huge hit and everyone went home with a bag full of treats.

Overall, the party was a success and I think all of the kids had a great time! It was a lot of fun getting to celebrate Parker's birthday with so many of our family and friends.

Baby Brown #3

We are excited to announce that Baby Brown #3 will be joining our family in late October/early November of this year. My official due date is November 1st, but seeing as how I delivered both of my other kids 1-2 weeks early I am assuming that this one will come a little bit early, too.

This pregnancy has been fairly similar to my other pregnancies so far. The morning all day long sickness started around week 6 and was quite debilitating for several weeks. Thank goodness I am married to an awesome husband who continuously stepped up to help me make it through by helping with the cleaning, laundry and childcare. The nausea has finally started to subside and I am feeling better every day. I still have my moments but I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today at my 12 week appointment we were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I know that this is the third time I've been through this, but it is always amazing to see and hear your baby for the first time. What a miracle in the making!

Surprisingly, I have not gained any weight yet, but I am sure that will change soon, especially if I continue to crave and indulge in Taco Bueno and Arby's as much as I have been lately. To balance out the grease and fat, I have also been craving apples and have to have one every morning at work.

I know that my blogging has been put on the back burner due to the way I have been feeling lately. I am hoping that as I enter my second trimester next week and my energy returns, I will get back into posting more and more about the things we have been up to the past few weeks. (Although I am not sure how exciting a post about watching Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse would be to most of you!)

I am looking forward to the upcoming pregnancy milestones like feeling the baby kick for the first time and finding out if we are adding another boy or girl to our family. Since this will be the last time that I am planning on experiencing pregnancy, I am hoping to enjoy every moment to its fullest.

Easter Weekend

We had a very nice Easter weekend this year. Eden was sick with a virus prior to the weekend and Parker got the same virus after the weekend was over, but we managed to have both kids healthy and happy on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday morning we went to an Easter egg hunt at a local church and had a great time. They divided the kids into age groups for the hunt. The youngest age group was Toddlers to 3 year olds so Eden got to participate too. Participating to her meant picking up an egg, putting it in her basket, and then putting it back down on the ground, so she only ended up with about 5 eggs in her basket, but she didn't care. She had a good time and I think I had the most fun just watching her.
Parker had already participated in several egg hunts, so he knew exactly what to do and ended up with an entire basketful of eggs.
Some of the eggs were prize eggs and Parker got several of those. One of his prizes was this cool pair of sunglasses. Here is Parker modeling them for the camera and, yes, they are on upside down!
Easter Sunday morning we woke up and the kids checked out what was in their Easter baskets.
Here is Eden hoarding her candy. She wanted to make sure that Parker didn't get any of it!
We tried really hard to get a good family picture after church. You can see how well that went!

After naps, we went over to my parent's house for dinner. All of my family was there and the kids had fun getting to play with Addison and Aubrey.
Overall, it was a great weekend with lots of fun memories!

Uh-Uh

Parker is such a strong willed child and will test the limits any time he is given the chance.

Here is just one example of a conversation he and I had recently.

Parker was playing a game on my iPhone and I needed to make a phone call.

Me: "Parker, please bring me my phone. I need to make a call."

Parker: "Uh-uh"

Me: "Parker, don't tell mommy 'no'. Bring me my phone right now."

Parker: "I didn't say 'no'. I said 'Uh-uh'."

Me: (as I am trying not to laugh at his creative way to disobey) "Parker, 'no' and 'uh-uh' mean the same thing. When you tell me 'uh-uh', you are disobeying. Bring me my phone right now."

Parker: "OK"

I am already praying for wisdom. There is just no telling what this kid has in store for us in the future!

Thursday School Easter Egg Hunt

Parker had his Easter Egg Hunt at preschool today. He loves hunting eggs and I had so much fun watching him and his 6 classmates run around and try to find as many eggs as possible! I am looking forward to a weekend filled with more egg hunting!
