May Little Things

With all of our end of year activities, May was a very busy month and we were all glad to see it come to an end!  Here are a few of our May little things:

Eden participated in the GT CafĂ© at the beginning of the month.  She has been working hard on her GT project and was proud to display it at the fair.  She earned a second place ribbon for her project about a utopian world.
Eden and her GT teacher, Mrs. Brown
Our school always has Pastries with Parents in May.  Unfortunately, I have cafeteria duty and couldn't sit and enjoy their pastries with them like all the other parents but I don't think they cared that much!
Lily's best friend, Jery, performed in a play with Plaza, Jr. so we had to go and support her! She did a great job and was so excited that Lily came to watch!
Cory got a new, lightweight wheelchair and the girls had to test it out around the house!
We always love to spoil our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.  This year, we made each of our teachers a candy bar poster with a fun message about how wonderful they are!
Parker had a baseball tournament on Mother's Day.  His team gave all the mothers and grandmothers a red rose after their game.
Emily and I showed up to our Mother's Day cookout dressed alike!
Eden earned her completion award for finishing her first TNT book in AWANA this year.
Cory hasn't been feeling well this month so Emily offered to keep the kids while I took him to the doctor one morning.  They had fun picking berries and playing football with Uncle Jon.
Parker was invited to a birthday party for Carter Bishop.  He had so much fun! He got to shoot guns and also learned how to shoot a bow and arrow.
For their annual field trip, the 5th graders at Gerard went to Burger's Lake.  Parker loved spending the day in the water!
To celebrate the beginning of summer, the girls and I treated ourselves to pedicures!
The week after school got out, the girls participated in basketball camp with several of their friends.  They had a great time and learned a lot too!

Last Day of School

Today was the LAST day of school!  All three kids have had wonderful years but we are definitely ready for summer vacation!
We now have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader! (And a 6th grader but Parker wasn't into posing for me!)
Today was a bittersweet day because two of the teachers on my team are retiring.  Shauna and Suzanne- the past few years have been such a blessing and I've learned so much from both of you!  Good luck as you begin this exciting time in your life!

Emily, Suzanne, and I completing our last cafeteria duty of the year!
Both of the girls had fun end of the year parties to celebrate the beginning of summer!
Lily's class enjoyed a photo booth and ice cream!

We love Mrs. Brightwell and will miss her so much next year!
Eden's class had a water balloon fight and then enjoyed snow cones from Bahama Bucks!
Mrs. Click is such a gem!  What a blessing she is to our family!
Summer has officially begun!  We can't wait for lots of swimming and sleeping late over the next few months!

5th Grade Breakfast

Today was the 5th Grade Breakfast-a yearly tradition at Gerard honoring the 5th graders as they leave Gerard and head to middle school.  Parker was surprised at the breakfast by being honored with one of four Rotary Awards.  Rotary Awards are given to the four 5th graders with the highest GPAs for the year.  None of us knew that he was receiving this award so we were all very surprised and excited for him!

Parker also received awards for A Honor Roll, Perfect Conduct and the PE Award.
Cory and I could not be prouder of Parker!  He is such a hard worker and definitely deserves all the awards he received.  We know he is going to do wonderful things next year in middle school!
Parker and Cole have been friends since preschool.
Parker and Kaden met in 2nd grade and have been great friends ever since.

Parker's wonderful 5th grade teachers- Mrs. Thames and Mrs. Holland

It is sad knowing that Parker will not be at Gerard with me next year but I know he's ready to move on so I'm excited for him!  The past six years have been full of many great memories and I'm so thankful for all his teachers who have made his elementary years so wonderful!
