Colorado 2014- Day 5- Fun Park

On Wednesday, we rode the gondola up to the top of the mountain to the Fun Park.  We purchased all day passes which gave us unlimited rides on all of the activities.
We began our day with alpine sliding.  We had to take the chair lift to get to the top of the slide and we had an uneven number of parents/kids which meant Parker had to ride alone.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about him riding alone but he did GREAT!
The first ride down was perfect and then on our second ride, Cory and Eden's sled tipped over on the way down.  In Cory's attempt to shield Eden from getting hurt, he banged himself up pretty bad and earned him a trip to the first aid station.
His arm, knee, and knuckles were pretty messed up and are still healing a week later.  Cory was a trooper and didn't let it slow him down.  It wasn't long before we were in line for our next ride- the roller coaster.
Next up was the snow hill.  Parker and Addison enjoyed throwing snowballs at each other but Eden and Lily wanted no part of the snow!
After we walked down from the snow hill, we noticed lots of clouds forming and started worrying about rain.  Just as we got in line for the bungee trampoline, lightning struck a few miles away and they were forced to close down the fun park for a while.  We took the kids inside to eat lunch and wait out the storm.  Sure enough, as soon as we got our food, the downpour started and most of the people started leaving.  We knew that if we could wait the storm out, the fun park would be mostly cleared out and we would not have to wait in any more lines.  Sure enough, almost two hours later, they reopened the park and we walked up right up to every ride we wanted to ride.  The kids got to bungee jump on the trampoline twice, ride the roller coaster again, rock climb, do gem panning, go through the maze, play putt-putt, and ride the alpine slide without waiting in one line!  It was perfect and we were so glad we decided to wait until the storm passed!

The kids (and adults!) had so much fun at the fun park!  We all had a hard time deciding which activity was our favorite!  We will definitely go back the next time we visit Breckenridge!
