Colorado 2014- Day 7

The kids started Friday morning having donuts with Granna and Granstan.  After breakfast, we rented some bikes and got ready to start an 11 mile bike ride to Frisco, the town next to Breckenridge.
Eden and Lily were not big enough to go on the ride this time and to say that they were unhappy would be the understatement of the year!  There were MANY tears shed as we got ready to go.  I hated leaving them behind but look forward to teaching them to ride their bikes so they can hopefully go next time.
We were able to hook Parker's bike to mine so we could ride tandem.  It took a few minutes to get the hang of it but he did a great job!
The bike trail was pretty much downhill all the way to Frisco except for one stretch that was uphill and really difficult.  There was one point where we just had to get off our bikes and walk them up the hill.  Parker did a good job helping me pedal but we were both glad to see the hills come to an end!
One thing I will never forget about the bike ride is that Parker talked NON-STOP the entire ride.  He NEVER quit talking, even on the hills when I was begging him to stop just so I could focus on pedaling and breathing!  Towards the end of the ride, the talking turned into whistling for a few minutes and then he was back to talking again!  Man, I love that kid!  And I loved sharing this bike ride with him!  I hope it is something he will always remember.

After the bike ride, Cory, the girls, and my parents met us for lunch.  We ate at my dad's favorite hot dog restaurant in Frisco.  It was so good and exactly what we needed to refuel after our long ride.
After lunch, we toured some restored log cabins from the 1800's.  Each log cabin had different historical exhibits from the time period.  In the first cabin, they gave each kid an activity "passport" and told them that every cabin had a special stamp for their passport.  The kids loved looking for the stamps in every cabin!  It was a great way to keep them interested in the tour.

That night, my parents were kind enough to keep the kids one more time and let us go out for dinner with Emily and Jon again.  It was a great end to a fun day!
