Tonight we had our annual Gerard Christmas program at the high school. Each grade level sings several songs and then the entire school sings a few songs in the finale.
Last year, Eden got very nervous and never made it on stage. She wanted to participate so badly but just couldn't make herself get up on that stage in front of so many people. This year, she confidently marched up on stage with the rest of the first graders and sang her little heart out! My heart was bursting with pride by the end of her performance! She has come such a long way in the past two years and has faced so many of her fears! It's been so fun watching her come out of her shell and participate in activities with her friends. I'm sure she will always struggle with being in front of people and there may still be times that she chooses not to participate, but tonight we will be proud of her accomplishment!
Parker and the third graders did an excellent job too! I'm proud of him for always being willing to participate with his classmates because getting in front of large groups isn't his favorite thing to do either!
They both did a great job tonight and I can't wait until next year when Lily will join them on stage as a kindergartner!
