Salvation Army Weekend

For the past five years, Aunt MerMer and Granna have included all the cousins in a Salvation Army Angel weekend.  They choose an angel that is the same age as one of the cousins, go shopping for him/her, and then do something fun together.  This year they chose a five year old girl who wanted a bike and a scooter.

After they went shopping, they went back to Granna's house and made pizza for dinner before heading to the Christmas parade in downtown Cleburne.  Then it was back to Granna's for hot chocolate and a movie before bed!
Saturday morning, the kids made some crafts, baked some muffins, and decorated cookies to go in their "You Got Elfed" bags.  They all put on the elf ears and delivered the bags to some of the elderly widows in Granna's neighborhood.  My mom said it brightened their day to have our kids bring them some special goodies!
Today, the kids delivered the gift to the Salvation Army.  We hope the little girl we chose has a very blessed Christmas with her family!  I am thankful that we were able to show the kids that it is just as important to give as it is to receive this time of year.  Thanks Aunt MerMer and Granna for a very fun weekend!
